Road Trip

Road Trip

Road Trip

Yesterday was all about living in the moment, yes that may sound clichΓ© but it is the truth.  We reflected on our previous school week, we talked lightly and deeply, we contemplated the meaning of life, we questioned the education system, we laughed, we sang, we danced, we drove, we sat in silence, we wandered around, and we found ourselves in each other.

Yesterday was about being stress-free, it was about who cares what others think…  If we are happy that’s all that matters.  It was a day to find the beauty in everything and in each other.  It was easy to dream and reminisces about the future because we were on the road, going in no certain direction, just where ever we wanted to go.  β€œLeft, right, stop here, no lets go there.”  The possibilities were endless.  I asked them a few questions, as in β€œthem,” I’m referring to my lovely friends Tara, Anna, Mackensi, and Robyn.  One question I asked them was what are your words of wisdom for someone entering high school.  We all had answers, yes we had to think a little about how to word our thoughts but it seemed that right away everyone had an answer to their success thinking for high school.  The truth was though, even though all of our answers were similar, everyone derived them from different experiences and from what had worked and not worked for them.  In conclusion we all agreed that being who you want to be, for yourself was indeed a path for happiness.  Following what standards say is β€œright” and β€œcool” leaves the people following them questioning why they were doing what they were doing and leaving you knowing almost every answer to you, your passions and why you do you.

We talked about what we truly want to do after high school.  Not what we want our profession to be, but what path we want to take.  Now I’m not going to tell you our answers because they don’t matter to you.  What I want you to do is think about it, ask yourself what do you want to do after high school.  Don’t think about what your teachers or your parents would want to hear.  Think about anything, what first comes in your head, even if you deem it impossible just write it down.  Refer to it every so often to keep your dreams alive and in sight.  Even if that is not the path you take you will always find a piece of you in your dreams.

Something I took away from our adventure:  Lets be smart about today and tomorrow and lets live happy.  Life can be stressful and there are things we all have to do but never forget to give yourself room to breathe and discover.  Fill your life with good thoughts, good people and good experiences.

In reference to good people let me introduce my friends who made the road trip all that it was.

Tara:  She’s smart and carefree, continuing to find the beauty in everyone and everything.  She wasn’t afraid to just go for it and test the shot.

Β

Anna:  I swear she was a model in a past life, she had this energy in front of the camera it was so awesome and I had so much fun shooting with her.

Robyn:  Her mind is beautiful and so creative, and she has the best snuggle pose no doubt.  Her face lights up in the prettiest way on camera.

Mack:  She is fun and she’s sassy and I love that about her, it shows through everything she’s does.
