Neon District

          Saturday was a trip to Norfolk, full of attitude.  Girls can be girls and that was what each of us were that Saturday. Girls.  Myself, Tara, Robyn, Anna, Mackensi, Laine, and Mia.  Each of us with a little too much sass and opinion, but we laughed it off after some comments back and forth.  We found the humor in it.  The truth was… we were totally feeding off each other’s energy. 

     Once we moved pass the sass we started going with whatever felt right.  We looked up and down the walls of the buildings.  Each was covered in the brightest colors and just like us girls, each art piece had attitude.  Each with its own story.  I found us following one of the walls to the back of an alley.  It was covered with even more art and in the corner there was a hidden vintage furniture store.  After that we stumbled upon a random photo stand in (the large pieces of art/cardboard with face cut outs that you see at carnivals) and later found the coolest art gallery.

     At the end of the day we settled down with some Zekes which I highly highly suggest trying if you haven’t, and laughed about everything.  We were goofy and sort of delirious when Tara unexpectedly spilled some of her acia bowl on her shirt and was being a total goof about it.  The day was gorgeous and the sun was setting, there was a cool breeze.  And in that moment where things were definitely not perfect… they were.

P.S. the art gallery we loved and visited was the Glass Wheel Studio, the lady there was incredibly sweet and loves where she works, it makes the visit even better.  The art is beautiful and each has a story!  Go check them out if you have some free time.  I will link their location below.
